If it's time to give your room a fresh new look, consider painting stripes on the wall using a laser level. There are many patterns that can make the room more interesting from having a single stripe to divide the wall at some point to having multiple stripes along the wall to simulate the effect of wall paper. Here you will learn how to paint stripes on a wall using a laser level.
First select the paint color for your wall and proceed to paint the wall. If necessary paint with a primer first or choose a paint that has primer mixed in to it. Allow the primary color to dry completely. Now measure the wall from floor to ceiling in two places and mark with a pencil. Measure up the lines to where you want the stripe and mark both lines at the exact same level.
Attach you laser level to a solid surface or you can mount it on a tripod. The laser level will automatically level itself. Line up the laser to the markings that you made on the wall and it will project a horizontal level line across your wall where your stripe will go.
Apply painter's tape along the level laser line to mark where your stripe will be painted on the wall. If you are painting multiple stripes, adjust the level to each set of markings and repeat the process. Now you can take the paint color for the stripes and paint between the taped off markings to create your stripes. Make sure to cover all of the exposed wall color with the stripe color.
Once the wall is dry, very slowly peel the tape from the wall making sure that you don't rip it off and take some of the wall color with you. Touch up any unpainted pieces with a small brush, allow to dry and you are done.
